Parents ask us to compare ourselves to a day care center all the time, so let's be straight about it.
A day care center has more staff, longer hours, and a bigger building. If you need care until 7 p.m. or you want a formal classroom for every age, a center may serve you better. We'd rather tell you that than lose your trust in month two.
What we offer instead is consistency and ratio. Our low child-to-teacher ratio means one adult is responsible for a small handful of children, not a room of twenty. When a toddler is having a hard morning, someone can actually sit on the floor with him. When an infant is learning to pull up, someone is watching the exact moment it happens and telling you about it at pickup.
We run both half-day and full-day programs, plus part-time childcare for parents on three- or four-day schedules. Full-time childcare is our most common enrollment, but we've built plenty of custom weeks for nurses at JFK Memorial, teachers in DSUSD, and hospitality staff working split shifts out at the resorts.

Child Care Agency Help: RCOE, CalWorks and GAIN Subsidized Care
This is the section most Indio parents scroll straight to, and nobody explains it well online.
You do not have to pay full private tuition to enroll here. We accept RCOE (Riverside County Office of Education) subsidized care, along with CalWorks and GAIN. If you qualify, the county pays part or all of your childcare cost directly, and your out-of-pocket drops to a co-pay sometimes to nothing.
The process trips people up, so here's the short version. You apply through the county or your assigned child care agency. They determine eligibility based on income, family size, and your reason for needing care (work, school, or job training all count). Once you're approved, you name your provider. That's where we come in — we're already set up to receive those payments, so there's no scramble on our end.
Two things worth knowing. First, there's often a waitlist at the county level, so apply before you need the spot, not the week you start the job. Second, being approved doesn't mean you're stuck. You choose the provider. A lot of Indio families assume subsidized care means taking whatever opening exists, and that's not how it works.

The old school house idea mixed ages, one teacher, everybody learning together is closer to what actually happens here than a graded classroom is.
Our four-year-olds work on letters and names while a two-year-old stacks blocks nearby. The little one absorbs more than you'd guess. The older one gets to be the helper, which does more for confidence than any worksheet.

"Educational institution" sounds formal for a house with a swing set, but the standards behind the words are real.
We're licensed by the State of California, Community Care Licensing Division. That means announced and unannounced inspections, background clearances for every adult on site, posted ratios, fire and emergency drills, and records that anyone can request. Current CPR and First Aid certification is maintained, not framed and forgotten. Ask to see the license and the certifications at your tour.
